Gunmen kill 400-Level student of FUT Minna
Gunmen suspected to be armed robbers on Saturday killed a 400-level student of Federal University of Technology, Minna, for daring to intervene while they attempted to rob a female student of the tertiary institution.
Investigations by Leadership News revealed that the female student, while returning from the school, was trailed to her apartment by the suspected armed robbers who forced her door open. But her shouts for help prompted the deceased to responded to his distressed neighbour.
The deceased, identified as Emmanuel, was reportedly shot by the hoodlums immediately he opened the door of his apartment.
An eye witness said that the hoodlums left shortly after killing the student without taking anything in the house.
“We heard a gun shot and the voice of Emmanuel pleading with the attackers.
“He called for our help but we didn’t go for his rescue because we were afraid,” A witness said.
The Police Public Relation Officer, Mr. Richard Oguche confirmed the incident, saying that the police had since swung into action and promising to unravel those behind the act.
“We have launched a manhunt for the fleeing robbers and we are working hard toward arresting them”, he said

The funeral of a 28 year-old waiter in southern Egypt turned into a celebration when he woke up after being declared dead.
Hospital officials had pronounced Hamdi Hafez al-Nubi dead after he suffered a heart attack while working.
His family says that his ‘dead’ body was taken home to be washed and prepared for his burial that was to take place on that Friday.
A doctor who was sent to sign the death certificate of Hamdi Hafez al-Nubi found out that his body was warm (instead of cold as dead bodies normally are) and thought it was strange. After taking out several medical procedures and checks on his body to clear her doubts, she found out that Hamdi Hafez al-Nubi was still alive.
On reporting the news of Hamdi’s ‘resurrection’ from the dead, she instantly fainted out of shock.
With the doctor’s assistance, both Hamdi and his mom were awakened and soon were celebrating with guests.
What a story. I can only image the happiness this family would have felt. Of recent I have been reading reports on several occurrences like this happening in different parts of the world. I think it is called artificial death or so.
What this goes to portray is that several precautions and checks should be take before someone is placed 6 feet below because the person might just be alive!
